Spoiler Alert: the ship doesn’t make it.

Given our success with robot posts in the past I thought it only reasonable to throw up this view of an amazing gripping robot. Basically using air pressure to lift things by surrounding items with an elastic bag that they then vacuumed air out of – oh friction the wonders you work!
Wow, the ability of these guys to move so fast with such huge weight is unbelievable. It’s too bad that their skills are pretty much a waste at this point. I mean really when are they ever going to actually have to do this?

Special double video post coming at ya, I’ve heard the Best Buy employee that put these up was fired for it. Surprise surprise Best Buy acts douchey, ridiculous, and has no sense of humor, I really really hate that store.
and the rebuttal…
You can always count on the Japanese to come up with some crazy ideas. Shimzu construction and architecture firm doesn’t disappoint with this very cool list of futuristic mega projects. From floating botanical cities to a self contained mega city pyramid that would house a million people. My favorite by far though is this solar belt that would circle the moon and then beam energy back to Earth through lasers!
Some pretty hilarious people have setup a fake Twitter account for BP public relations and they have some great tweets. Starting with: We regretfully admit that something has happened off of the Gulf Coast. More to come. And soon following with a myriad of other greats and even a BP Cares t-shirt. When you combine that sort of viral response with this Washington Post report it Seems this thing is really catching on fire so to speak:
“Obama’s clenched jaw is becoming an increasingly familiar sight. During one of those sessions in the Oval Office the first week after the spill, a president who rarely vents his frustration cut his aides short, according to one who was there. ‘Plug the damn hole,’ Obama told them.”
Somehow I have never heard of this girl Natalie Tran, but apparently she makes a bunch of great videos so check out her YouTube page entitled CommunityChannel to find other highlights such as ERROR, where she describes ridiculous it is to send those Error Reports if a Word document crashes or something. Either way, this clip hilariously points out how terrible Clip Art is, and gives us a preview of her new video on how batshit insane most eBay users are. Australian accent FTW.

Quite an intense video to say the least.
Video gamers and warfighters alike will appreciate this stunning first-person-shooter view of a Dutch marine boarding team taking back a German merchant ship from Somali pirates. It’s not hard to imagine many more soldiers of the future equipped with cameras so that commanders can have multiple on-the-ground views of rapid response operations carried out in real-time.

Is it me or does it seem like the speedboats people race constantly look like they are going to crash? Don’t get me wrong I love going fast and being out on the water but is there REALLY a need to go that fast? The time and energy spent just seems crazy to me. At least get crushed by a Japanese whaling ship or make it so that your boat can spit fire.

I’m sure at this point we have all heard of the infamous Will It Blend series that takes some amazing gadgets, including the iPad, and puts them in a high speed blender, but I have yet to see someone take a high-tech device and create a skateboard and then try to skate with it. A truly valiant effort, but it turns out the iPad probably blends better than it shreds. As much as I cringe to see these awesome devices I want destroyed, I still sort of enjoy it.
