One Cup Washing
A new washing machine developed in Britain uses only one cup of water:
It uses less than 10 per cent of the water of conventional machines and 30 per cent less energy by replacing most of the water with thousands of tiny reusable plastic beads to attract and absorb dirt under humid conditions

Kidnapped NY Times Reporter
For 7 months the New York Times has been able to keep every major news organization from reporting on the kidnapping of one of their reporters by the Taliban. Fearing his value would rise and therefore make his rescue more difficult they even kept it off Wikipedia, a feat in itself.

Two teams have joined forces and won the Netflix prize submitting an algorithm 10.05% better than the current one.

Why have I not seen a trailer for this movie yet? The movie is called Hurt Locker and it’s about the squads that defuse bombs in Iraq. I think the it looks pretty awesome, and by the way, it is certified fresh, running at 96% over at Rottentomatoes.

Hitler’s Stealth Fighter
